The Falls Fire has now been contained. However, you’ve probably been asking where oh where has FaVe Mom been? Well, let me count the countless things that we’ve encountered since my exchange student Helene arrived from Norway. I was at work when I got a call from my friend Jill, you know Popsicle Blog owner. She asked how close the fires were to me. Since I work in Temecula, I had no idea there was a fire. I saw smoke earlier, but assumed it was further away than it seemed because I saw it from work.

The above is what it must have looked like at first and then it got worse. I took the kids home to grab their important items just in case it was necessary to leave in the middle of the night. Helene needed her Visa and Passport at a minimum. Ok, actually, she needed her makeup, hair dryer, flat iron and then her visa and passport. HAHA She’s a prissy girl just like her host mom when it comes to her hair. HAHA

The above photograph is of the Ortega Highway. To give you an idea we live down the other side of that mountain! They set up shelter at Lakeside High School which is the assigned High School to my address. However, that’s not where Helene will be attending. Then they shutdown and evacuated Lakeland Village. I wasn’t worried. Then they started shutting down Lakeshore Drive and the surrounding. Now I’m concerned. I contemplated leaving and staying in Temecula with my other family.

It was way scary to have a fire this close to home and not even a week after Helene arrived. Helene wanted to stay home because she was tired, but I told her there was no way in Hades she was staying that close to Hades on earth. She could sleep once the fire was contained.

What the Falls Fire looked like at night.
The Falls Fire was threatening our homes for several days and I was not ok with it. As much as I wanted to be at my home, it was difficult for my son to be able to breathe. He’s got situational asthma and he needed to be inside and was not allowed to go out.

My dog comes home from Dog K-9 Training this coming Saturday. I can’t wait to see her. I miss my Misty Cloud but, Misty Cloud could not have been outside with all the smoke from the Falls Fire present. Thank you Stephanie and Jeremy for being so understanding about this. I really appreciate it.

Back to Normal! Thank you Lord!
I’m so excited that the fires are now contained and we are safe once again in our home. So, no more wondering where oh where has FaVe Mom been. I’m back. :) Thank you to all of my friends who have checked in on me. I love you all very much.
